  1. 16-19 year olds accounted for the largest proportion of Belfast Met enrolments across 13/14 and 14/15 – growing from 34% to 43% of all enrolments.

  2. The male: female ratio of enrolments in 2014/15 was 45:55.

  3. 32% of our enrolments are from learners living in the top 20% most deprived areas in Northern Ireland (NIMDM Quintile 1).

  4. Males are more likely to be enrolled on an HE course than females.

  5. The School of Applied Sciences, Hair & Beauty has the highest proportion of enrolments by 16-19 year olds.

  6. The School of Community Education and Life Skills has the highest proportion of enrolments from Belfast based residents.

  7. The School of Business Management & Finance has the lowest proportion of enrolments from Quintile 1 (the most deprived areas).

  8. The largest proportion of HE enrolments within Belfast are from West Belfast (29%).

  9. 40% of enrolments from Belfast are from Quintile 1 (compared to a College average of 32%).

  10. 88% of West Belfast 16 year old enrolments are from a Quintile 1 area (the most deprived areas).
